The most effective selling tool I have found is the simple, classic bookmark. (See my article on why I buy bookmarks instead of make my own.

I've tried two different companies, iPrint and Printing for Less. They both do an exellent job. iPrint is easier to use for an amature. Although Printing for Less is set up for professional graphic artists. But don't let that intmidated you. The folks at Printing for Less graciously and painlessly talked me through the process and they were delighted I called them.

Comparison:
iPrint has a super-easy method for making your own bookmarks. Just pick your backgrounds upload your bookcover(very easy) and fill in the blanks with your information. You can order a minumum of 25 bookmarks for less than $12 which means each bookmark costs less than 20 cents. That's for full color front and back, too. They almost always have bookmarks on discount prices, so your cost will probably be even less.

Printing for Less is a bit more complex, but not so bad that you should mark them off your list and the results are very professional. They offer their bookmarks in two different sizes and you have the option of full color or b&w on the back. Their minimum is 500 and the price for their least expensive options is around $90. That means each bookmark costs about 5 cents apiece.
